Overview & Specs
I came across a battered HP Omen Obelisk on eBay for a great price. I grabbed it, stripped it down for anything useful and replaced what I couldn't use. It was in rough shape originally, but after some hard work it’s been given a new life and is ready to game again! The ASUS case and the OEM HP Omen motherboard are brand new, everything else has been thoroughly cleaned and tested, benchmark results in photos.
Specs:
ASUS AP201 Case
HP Omen z390 Motherboard
Intel i9-9900k CPU
HP Omen 120mm AIO Watercooler
1TB Samsung NVMe M.2 SSD
HyperX DDR4 32GB 2666 (2x16GB)
Nvidia RTX 2080ti 11GB GPU
HP Omen 750w 80 PLUS PLATINUM PSU
Built in WIFI and BT
Windows 11 Pro
Notes:
The motherboard does not include a USB-C header, while the ASUS case is equipped with USB-C. To ensure proper functionality of the front panel USB-C, an M.2 adapter was installed in the second M.2 slot.
The GPU is a blower-style cooler, which is known to run hotter. During testing, it peaked at 87°C.
The HDMI output on the card feels slightly loose. While it connects securely and maintains a stable picture even when jiggled, I felt it was worth noting.
