I’ve included some screenshots and a link to some benchmarks.
So what’s the upside? As configured, you get a solid 1080p gaming experience. Newer or more demanding titles may require settings fiddling to get it dialed in, but should overall be an enjoyable experience in most games. With a separate OS drive, maintenance such as reinstalls becomes a lot easier. And as soon as the OS drive is brought forward to a newer platform, you get a nice boost in performance. And with a full TB dedicated to storage/games, you have plenty of space to start gaming.
The motherboard is on the most recent bios and is Ryzen 5000 ready. This PC can take simple drop in upgrades up to a Ryzen 5600x and a 250-300ish watt Video Card, and with a cooler upgrade, could handle a 5800x3d.
What are the cons? You don’t get Gen 4 PCIE speeds without a motherboard and CPU upgrade. Also, with a stock cooler, the 2600x runs a bit warm. However under a gaming workload you shouldn’t come near thermal throttling.
