This is pretty much the end of the road for this platform. If you manage to snag a cheap 5800X3D you'll get an OK boost, but this PC really shines for people who don't upgrade often. If that's you, you're getting a really nice looking machine built with really nice components. The 8 cores help too. Game CPU requirements keep climbing and this thing has room to sit through a few more waves of that.

I honestly am not sure about everything the X570 platform provides, but it's a nice looking board :)

It does support PCIe 4.0, which can handle PCIe 5.0 GPUs without much performance loss. Pair that with the 850W A-tier (per SPL PSU Tier List) unit and its native 600W 12V-2x6 cable and you get good efficiency now with options later. The 2TB 970 EVO Plus is only a PCIe 3.0 drive, but gaming workloads don't benefit much from raw SSD speed anyway. Hard to complain about 2TB of NVMe with a DRAM cache these days.

This GPU's original vBIOS didn't support ReBar, which matters for a lot of modern games. I found a vBIOS that does and flashed it, but it was an OC BIOS, so the Normal BIOS got overwritten. That costs you zero fan mode and the fans spin a bit faster, though it stays quiet at idle and under load. The OC switch position is still original. You're welcome to hunt down a Normal BIOS that supports ReBar, but EVGA has exited the GPU business and these files aren't exactly labeled clearly.

RGB runs through Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0 for everything except the GPU, which uses EVGA Precision X1. Both are basic but they get the job done, and Precision X1 gets you temperature sensors on the card that HWMonitor and HWiNFO can't read. I also installed an Upsiren HU-8 fan hub to make my own wire management easier, which leaves you room to add more fans if you want.
