Explanation:

  • RX 580 is a decent starter GPU, and can run almost every game out there at playable fps on low to medium settings. https://youtu.be/UatGJHwpeBk

  • Xeon E5-2680 v4 is a bit overkill for this build. It provides adequate single-core performance, and enough multi-core performance to have many things open at once. It also saves money on RAM and just everything in general.

  • SSD and HDD mix is still a meta budget method. A fast NVMe for boot, space for games that need high loading speeds, and a hard drive for storing less important or older games. please monitor the health of the HDD, and don't store super valuable information on it. It will probably last a fair while, however it is always good to check, and HDDs will usually tell you when they start having serious issues.

  • Overall a decent starter build, 90% of gamers don't need any better, and there is still ample room for upgrades. The two main upgrades would be 32GB RAM, just match the speed and generation, plug and play; mixing and matching isn't a big deal for this specific slightly older and super resilient RAM. Next would be GPU: sell the RX 580 and buy a 1080 Ti or RX 5700 XT, which should give almost double the performance in demanding games. There is also room for a SATA SSD, and the cable is already routed.
