Overview & Specs
A compact, well-balanced starter PC. The 3600XT and 2070 Super are a solid 1080p combo that'll run AAA titles without much fuss, and the WD Black SN770 is a reliable drive worth taking with you through future builds.
The B550 chipset brings PCIe 4.0 support so the SN770 runs at full speed. PCIe 4.0 also means future GPU upgrades won't be bottlenecked by slower lanes¹. 16GB of DDR4-3000 is plenty for 1080p gaming.
RGB across the build runs a stock rainbow on both the case and cooler. The case lighting isn't addressable, so what you see is what you get. No RGB software is installed.
Thermals run a bit warmer than a mid-tower due to the compact case. I've flipped one of the top fans to intake to bring in more fresh air, which helped noticeably. The GPU has been repasted with PTM7950 and repadded, so it's running as cool as this form factor allows. The 2070 Super can get a bit loud under heavy load, but that's fairly typical for a dual-fan card working in tighter quarters.
The Raidmax Cobra sits at C-tier on the SPL PSU tier list, which is appropriate for a build at this level. It's non-modular but comes with a 12VHPWR cable, so if you upgrade to a modern GPU down the line, you won't need any adapters.
