Overview & Specs
A USED Samsung 470 Series 128GB SSD. This drive kind of holds a special place in my mind and heart - it was my first SSD. Actually, I had 2 of these to start with when I built a Sandy Bridge i7-2600K system way back in 2011. I gifted the other one to a friend about a half-a-year later (sometime in late summer of 2011). I refused to use any SSD that used a SandForce controller back in those days, so, that's the short story of how I ended up going with Samsung. However, I am digressing...
This drive was used as my main/primary drive for about 1½ years before being deployed as a primary backup drive of personal items and important software for around 2 more years. Times have changed! Now, 128GB is not even enough storage space, in some cases, for a single game!
I am only listing this as I feel that someone might be interested just for the nostalgia and display piece aesthetic of it. I'd love to keep on holding onto it but I have to let it go (family doesn't see it the way I see it) and I might as well get something for it. I seriously doubt anyone would buy this for actual deployment. However, the drive works, is in excellent physical condition and excellent endurance condition. I have attached a CrystalDiskInfo screenshot for basic SMART data of this legend. Also, I won't delve into a dissertation about how older 2-cell MLC SSDs are more robust in terms of endurance (P/E cycles). Sure, it uses an ancient SATA II interface (not even SATA III) in a thicker 9mm x 2.5" form factor but it certainly has lasted! It still has >99% life on it. ^_^
