I used this as a means of addressing additional SATA Hard Drives in my UnRAID server for several years. I never had reliability issues with it and can confirm it is currently set to IT Mode (the way UnRAID expects the controller to be setup to work properly).
This card includes a cable to connect up to 4 SAS/SATA disks (pictured)
