Why You Don’t Want to Miss this Azure Abyss

For the first time on this newsletter we’re featuring a gaming PC option from PulsarBuilds and this one is definitely worth taking a look at. This seller has already found some early success with selling budget to mid ranged systems on Jawa, and this new Azure Abyss build should sell pretty quickly as well. Let me show you why this is a great gaming PC prebuilt option if you’re on a tight budget.

Favorite Features

  • Performance Combo - To the untrained PC gamer, the Intel i3 12100F and RX 5700XT probably doesn’t look great when it comes to gaming. But anyone that’s up to speed on our market and benchmarking data knows that this is a fantastic 1080p combo that can play literally any game you throw at it. The RX 5700XT launched back in 2019 but somehow it’s still right on par with an RTX 3060, and to find this level of performance in a $650 build is delightful.
  • Intel Stock Cooler - Clarification definitely needed on this one. I’m not necessarily a fan of the performance of the Intel Stock Cooler (even though it’ll have zero problems cooling a 12100F mind you) but what I like about it is the color scheme. I’ve done this a few times with my own builds, because I love to see when the aesthetics of a build match the super clean, light blue design on this cooler. The PSU cable extensions and RGB lights on the RAM sticks make this build really pop and look intentional.
  • DeepCool CG560 - This is a great case for a budget build. Not only is it very clean and minimal aesthetically, but there’s a lot of room to grow into it over the next few years of upgrading. There’s plenty of room for more fans and/or radiators in the top and the front if you ever upgrade the performance parts which need better cooling support.

Price to Performance Value

In terms of raw price to performance, the value on the Azure Abyss is quite good after taking a look at the current options available on Jawa. For around $600-$650, I’m seeing builds with an RTX 2060, RX 5600XT, and a GTX 1080, and the RX 5700XT wipes the floor with all of those. This is also one of the best aesthetically looking builds in the price range, but not the absolute best in my opinion.

First Upgrades

Upgradeability isn’t the strong suite of a build like this. There’s certainly a lot of performance that can be upgraded, but it’ll likely come at the cost of having to upgrade something else to go along with it. For example, if you wanted to upgrade the 12100F to an Intel i5 or i7 chip, you’ll also need to upgrade the Gigabyte H610M motherboard. If you want to upgrade the RX 5700XT to something newer or better, you’ll also want to upgrade the High Power 600W power supply.

Conclusion

For anyone that’s looking for an affordable 1080p gaming PC prebuilt that can play any game such as Fortnite, Modern Warfare 2, or Diablo 4, the Azure Abyss would be a great option. The spec sheet might not sound attractive to someone just jumping into PC gaming, but experts will tell you that it’s a solid price to performance combo at a really great price.
