Apologies for the lack of Friday Features over the past couple of weeks, but I made sure to bring us back with a banger. This is called a “1080p Killer PC” posted from Virtus PCs and Tech and I don’t anticipate it lasting long on the market at all. The CPU and GPU combination in here is perfect for entry-level 1080p gaming, and the price point is unbeatable. Let’s take a closer look.
Favorite Features:
- CPU and GPU Value - The most recent Friday Feature also included the Ryzen 5 3600 and RX 6600, so it seems like sellers are catching on to this budget META. Both of these components are inexpensive, but they deliver a solid 1080p gaming experience when combined together. You won’t be pushing every game to Ultra settings with this kind of build, but it can absolutely handle any game including the newer demanding titles. The RX 6600 competes with Nvidia’s RTX 3060 for reference.
- White and Black Aesthetic - I’m a huge fan of sellers focusing on aesthetics even in the ultra builds like this one. There wasn’t a ton of money spent to make it happen, just a sound attention to detail with the color coordination is all it took. They painted the stock Ryzen cooler which I love to see, used black cable extensions, and focused on buying only white or black parts. This looks great for a $550 build.
- LianLi Lancool 205 Mesh - This is a high quality case for this price range of a build. With LianLi you know you’re getting top quality materials, and it’s a very clean and minimal design that most people won’t have an issue with. Solid choice for a flip!
Price to Performance Value:
Builds like this obviously aren’t competing with the bigger manufacturers because of the profit margins. There’s no way that the seller is making a ton of profit on this one, which is great for buyers. Whoever picks this up is getting pretty much as good as it gets for the $500-$550 range, especially when you consider that that GPU alone costs $200.
First Upgrades:
Upgradeability is usually the strong suite of budget Ryzen builds, but that’s not the case today. As of right now the build is perfectly fine and tuned for budget 1080p gaming, but it’ll require multiple parts to be upgraded for most performance boost paths. The B350 motherboard isn’t ideal for a CPU upgrade, and the 450W power supply won’t be able to handle a GPU upgrade.
Conclusion
If you’re hunting to get into the world of PC gaming but at the console price level, then this is the gaming PC prebuilt to get. For $550 you’ll be receiving a CPU and GPU combination that can handle any game with a solid FPS average, and the build will look great on top of your desk.
