This Monsoon Will NOW Sell Soon

I know, I know, I already featured this one before, and this is kind of awkward. I wrote about the build we’re looking at today 7 weeks ago and although it was a good value play at the time, its value now is just bonkers. After a few price drops, the Monsoon featuring the i5 12400 and RTX 3060Ti is now down to just $1000 and honestly I don’t think you can beat this build anywhere on the internet right now.

Favorite Features

  • Torrent Nano Case – Fractal Design has definitely been on a hot streak over the past 2 years when it comes to their case launches, and this Torrent Nano is one of the reasons why. This case is an absolute beauty and it’s a great form factor for those looking to get into the smaller ITX builds without getting too obnoxious about it. It also features excellent airflow from the front panel/fan and it’ll look amazing sitting on someone’s gaming desk.
  • CPU and GPU Value – Most people know by this point that I’m a huge fan of AMD graphics cards right now because of their value. Most RTX 3060, 3060Ti, and 3070 builds are way overpriced right now, but with the recent price cut of this build down to $1000 this becomes extremely valuable. The seller listed exactly what settings and benchmarks they achieved, and this setup will get high FPS numbers in any game you throw at it with 1080p and High settings.
  • Color Scheme – Using the stock Intel cooler is usually a fool’s errand, but when done correctly it can turn out amazing like this one did here. I love when builders match the aesthetic design of the black/blue color scheme of the cooler with the rest of the build, because it allows you to spend more money elsewhere for better aesthetics or more performance. Now for this design, the buyer will indeed be locked into the blue/black color scheme because of the CPU cooler and cable extensions, but I think that’s perfectly worth it for a design like this.

Price to Performance Value

Good luck trying to find a build that beats this new price. At the original $1300 price point there were certainly some contenders, but now that it’s down to $1000 nothing comes close. Continuing to use the popular Starforge Systems as our punching bag, their cheapest PC comes in at $1150 and it has very similar specs, but the aesthetics are roughly Tier D while Hammy’s build is easily Tier S.

Conclusion

There’s no chance that this build will sit long at its new $1000 price point. The 12400 and RTX 3060Ti by themselves are just too powerful for a price this low, and when you combine the rest of the aesthetics of the build it’s game over. If you’re hunting for a $1000 gaming PC before this upcoming holiday season, act fast and snag the Monsoon before the new moon.
