This Build is Aging Like Fine Wine

Today’s featured build is sporting a CPU and GPU combo that you rarely see these days, but here’s my attempt at convincing you that this is an amazing build for the price! Both the aesthetics and performance are dialed in and this is a serious budget gaming PC build that you should consider if you’re currently hunting!

Favorite Features

  • RX 5700XT – This 5700XT is several years old at this point, but make no mistake this can still crush 1080p gaming here in 2022 and going into 2023. For comparison, the 5700XT is right in between the newest AMD RX 6600XT and RX 6650XT models and also trades blows with the Nvidia RTX 3060. If you see an RTX 3060 or RX 6650XT completed system out in the wild for just $730, you’d obviously snatch that up right away!
  • Ryzen 5 3500X – I’ve mentioned this before, but the Ryzen 5 3500X is an amazing budget CPU for gamers that are craving pure price to performance value. If you’re strictly interested in PC gaming, then you won’t be limited by the lack of hyperthreading because this is a seriously fast CPU even without it. With 6 cores and 6 threads that can boost up to 4.1GHz, this is a fantastic option for these budget to mid range builds.
  • Seller’s Upgrade Options – The build itself is locked in and ready to go, but the seller is also offering optional upgrades as you can see towards the bottom of the post. If you’re interested in a PCIe WiFi, or maybe a WiFi + Bluetooth combo, then you can add that right into your order to make it simple.

Price to Performance Value

Gaming Workstations & Services is already known on the platform for selling price to performance builds, and this is yet another example of why. For $730 you’re getting a solid CPU and GPU combo and it’s not competing with any bigger manufactures because they simply don’t produce builds this cheap. A gaming PC with this same level of performance but with all brand new and current generation hardware would probably run about $300+ more, so you’re saving a ton of money with these previous generation products.

First Upgrades

The only glaring hole on this one is the RAM kit. A Ryzen 5 3500X should definitely be paired with a 3200MHz or 3600MHz RAM kit, so I would recommend removing the GSkill Ripjaws kit that’s in here as soon as you get the itch to boost the performance. Upgrading from 2400MHz to 3600MHz makes a significant difference with this setup and would be worth every penny. Don’t forget to sell the old kit here on Jawa!

Conclusion

It’s just no surprise anymore when I see a solid price to performance and aesthetically pleasing build from Gaming Workstations & Services. They are building a household name on our platform and builds like this continue to raise the bar in terms of what gamers can get with their money.
