A New META is Forming?

Today we’re looking at a new possible blueprint for higher end gaming PC flips and I’m definitely along for the ride. This Intel i5 12600K and RTX 4070 gaming PC prebuilt from Gaming Workstations and Services definitely caught my attention, and this one could appeal to both buyers and sellers. Let’s take a look.

Favorite Features

  • The Screen - Before talking about the more critical components that affect performance, let’s highlight the screen that you can see underneath the GPU. According to the listing, this is a USB/HDMI 1280x400 60Hz screen and it’ll have a lot of utility for whichever gamer buys this. Not only can you have it display your theme/design that perfectly matches the color scheme of the build, but you could also use this to constantly display CPU and GPU temperatures, utilization percentages, or whatever stat you want. I’m really intrigued with this because not only does it make a high end build look even better, but it could also be used to mask a mATX motherboard in an ATX case. Us PC builders don’t typically like that sort of combination because it leaves a huge gap towards the bottom of the case, but if you put a little screen down there it probably won’t look so bad. So not only are you adding the versatility of the extra monitor, but you could also save money on your builds with mATX motherboards. I’ll be personally keeping my eye on this concept, and we’ll see if any other sellers hop on board with this.
  • CPU and GPU - Aside from the screen, I still like the performance on this because the 12600K and 4070 will smoke any game you throw at it in 1440p. This is one of those builds that you’ll need a 1440p monitor to truly take advantage of. I also like the upgrade path of the 12600K, as later down the line you could upgrade to a 13600K, 13700K, or dare I say Intel 14th Gen if the prices ever go down.
  • Cable Extensions - Not only do I of course love the white cable extensions that perfectly match the build, but I also really enjoy the 90 degree connector to power the GPU. Some people may not like this (and you can easily remove it if you don’t) but I personally think it’s a pretty unique look and we aren’t use to seeing this (other possibly new META) yet.

Price to Performance Value

This gaming PC prebuilt isn’t screaming price to performance value this week, and the seller even has other RTX 4070 builds that are priced cheaper competing with this one. If a gamer only cares about raw FPS per dollar value, then a gaming PC with a screen inside of it won’t interest them, but compared to the bigger manufacturers it’s still decent value for an RTX 4070 build.

First Upgrades

There’s no specific weak point in a build like this, it’ll last for a few years without any issues in 1440p. The one potential roadblock I can see a gamer having is only having 1TB of storage, but that can easily be fixed by adding a 2nd NVMe drive into one of the available M.2 NVMe ports on the motherboard.

Conclusion

I love when I see sellers try new things, especially for flips where they’re trying to make a profit, so I’m excited to see if either of these 2 new METAs will come to fruition or not. The screen at the bottom of the case will certainly get the attention of gamers scrolling on Jawa, and I also like the inclusion of the 90 degree power connector on the GPU. This is a great gaming PC prebuilt and it was a fun one to take a look at.
