Inside this used Dell Inspiron 531 home computer from 2008 is some of the best performance parts you'll need for today's high end gaming. This thing will game easily at 1440p or higher depending on game and settings. This case has some cosmetic scuffs on the outside of the case and has been custom modded to fit modern parts, but also providing adequate cooling, while maintaining a stock look. I cut intake holes for the PSU on top of the case. I cut out a hole for the motherboard back plate to allow for better heat dissipation as well as make it easier in the future for upgradeability. I opened up behind the front panel for the intake fan to have less restriction. Below the graphics card I drilled holes to allow the GPU to breath easier as well as adding some rubber feet to lift it off the ground a bit to allow better airflow underneath. I had to cut some of the interior of the case to fit the gpu because of the length. I also had to cut out the blank floppy drive hole to get the USB 5.25in bay adapter to fit. From the outside it's almost indistinguishable from 2008. Everything works, yes even the cd/dvd drive. I've updated the bios to the newest version, installed windows 11 and updated, and finally installed programs/games for benchmarking/stress testing purposes with AMD EXPO set. Everything in this custom sleeper build is of brand new parts, well except the cd/dvd drive, case, and power button lol. I've added some custom white cable sleeving over some of the wires to give it a cleaner all white build in case you do want to open it up and show it off. There are some lights on the graphics card and motherboard that I have disabled, but can be turned back on. I really wanted to lean in the sleeper side of this build, but wanted to make it functional, performant, and quiet. These parts were chosen for their performance, as well as their ability to stay cool and quiet under load.
Used case with minor cosmetic issues that has been custom modded. All the parts inside are newly purchased and installed, updated, and tested to ensure stability.
