This is because the buyer will need to buy an optical drive, battery, hard drive, and hinge covers, and will need to reinstall the operating system. 

This laptop has the following missing parts:
- Hinge Covers 
- 2.5" HDD/SSD - (inside the laptop the black rubber/metal caddy is included)
- RAM - if you want to have more than 6GB RAM 
- Battery 
- Optical Drive - not 100% needed but can add another 2.5" hard drive slot or add DVD drive functionality

To help find parts for these, you can look for "15-p hinge cover" and find parts that match the 15-p 200 series (as this is 15-p214dx - 214 indicates 200 series).

We did basic tests on this and can confirm that the screen looks alright (very minor light spots near the bottom left). The keyboard appears to work from typing a few sentences. Wifi works as well. 

Advised to repaste thermal paste as well, but this is pretty difficult for this laptop. 

The major parts included are the Palmrest/Bottom Case, Screen Assembly, and Motherboard. 

The value of the parts is around $200 if you were to part this out and sell on eBay.

The laptop is in good shape and in good working condition.

Has battery (works, holds charge but is older so don't expect amazing battery life, probably about an hour - these didn't last long even when brand new). 

The screen is 13" and 1920 x 1080, matte display. Due to 1080p and 13 inch, the pixel density is reasonably high for this size of the screen - so things look pretty good.

- Redo thermal paste/dust out / replace a few screws on the bottom 

This also has a kind of loose bios battery - so I taped it in place. It might be able to be secured properly, but just a heads up.
