Top Pick: Meet the 1440p Gaming Beast Under $1400

For PC gamers looking for the best possible 1440p value, this gaming PC prebuilt that was recently posted by PC Lab LLC is what you’re looking for. The RX 7800 XT graphics card can play any title in 1440p with high or ultra settings, and the other surrounding components are impressive as well. Let’s take a closer look to see why this got my top prebuilt pick of the week.

Favorite Features:

  • Ryzen 7 5700X3D - Since the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is basically out of stock everywhere you look, this 5700X3D is essentially the very top gaming pick for AM4 right now. This 8 core and 16 threaded chip is a beast in gaming with the 3D V-Cache, and it can hang with high end 1440p graphics cards like the one it’s with this in this build. If you value having an upgrade path then that would be the one downfall though. Since the 5700X3D is at the highest end of AM4, there most likely won’t be any other CPUs to upgrade to unless you switch to AM5. More on this later.
  • RX 7800 XT - This GPU is the king of value when it comes to high level 1440p gaming. Like I said in the intro, it’ll play any game you throw at it in 1440p without a problem. It’s also rocking 16GB of VRAM which should set you up for the next couple of years. For a gaming comparison, the RX 7800 XT beats the RTX 4070 is many titles, despite costing sometimes $100 less.
  • Sama SV02 - If you’re brand new to the PC building world you may not have heard of this case manufacturer, but rest assured this model packs some value like the other components. PC builders, including myself, really love this SV02 because not only does it feature the signature “fish tank” design that most people want right now, but it also comes with the 3 RGB fans with the infinity mirror design which looks great. Aside from aesthetics, it also provides a perfectly fine amount of cooling so you don’t have to worry about it.

Price to Performance Value:

The price to performance value is one of the main reasons this gaming PC prebuilt is getting the vote this week. Compared to the competition on other websites, most PC gamers are paying hundreds of dollars more for the same (or less) frame rate with the RTX 4070 prebuilts. Compared to Jawa, I only saw one other 7800 XT build that was lower in price, but that PC did not have a 3D V-Cache CPU (5600X) so I like this one better. I don’t think it gets much better than this right now for a high end 1440p prebuilt under $1400.

First Upgrades:

As I explained about the CPU, that’s the only “downfall” of this PC, which won’t even be a huge deal to most people. AM4 is an excellent CPU socket choice because there’s a huge upgrade path, but when you start with the highest CPU option, there’s nowhere left to go. The buyer of this build could eventually swap to a new motherboard (and RAM) to an option like the 7800X3D/9800X3D, but upgrading the CPU won’t even be necessary in this build for several years.

Conclusion

PC Lab LLC delivers yet another banger PC prebuilt with this one and it’s specifically targeting PC gamers that was a luxury 1440p gaming experience without breaking the bank. The 5700X3D and RX 7800 XT is an amazing combination, and I believe anyone that buys this will be very happy with it for a long time.
